LH 95 is a group of young stars. These stars sit near massive blue giants. These giants are very heavy and bright. They release strong energy. This energy heats the hydrogen gas. The heat makes the gas glow red. Dark dust lanes stand out against the light. The winds from stars push through space. This shows how stars and gas interact.
Blue light has short waves in this image. Red light has longer waves. The nebula gas glows crimson. This color comes from hydrogen-alpha emissions. Scientists use this glow to find young stars. It helps them spot hidden baby stars.
Researchers see stars gathering material. LH 95 has about 2,500 stars. Many stars are not fully born yet. They are called pre-main-sequence stars. They are still shrinking under gravity. Soon, they will burn hydrogen. This process lasts several million years. This is longer than some thought. It helps us understand star growth.
