LoopRead is an AI-powered adaptive multilingual reading platform that helps language learners master English, Japanese, and Chinese through personalized content, real-time assessment, and intelligent vocabulary tools.

How does LoopRead accurately determine my reading level?

LoopRead utilizes a Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) engine grounded in Item Response Theory (IRT). Questions dynamically calibrate to performance and response time, outputting benchmarks aligned with Lexile, CEFR, HSK, or JLPT standards.

What is i+1 reading and why is it effective?

Based on linguist Stephen Krashen's Comprehensible Input hypothesis, optimal language acquisition happens when reading texts containing approximately 95-98% known words and 2-5% challenge words (the i+1 zone). This prevents cognitive fatigue while maximizing natural vocabulary acquisition.

Why do LoopRead articles offer Easy, Standard, and Challenging versions?

Articles are rewritten into three calibrated difficulty tiers sharing the identical story and facts, but varying in vocabulary tier and sentence complexity. Readers of any proficiency can read current global stories at their comfort level.

How does the FSRS algorithm schedule vocabulary flashcards?

FSRS (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler) models memory stability and retrievability to predict forgetting curves accurately, scheduling flashcard reviews right before memory traces decay.

Can I use LoopRead on mobile devices and offline?

Yes, LoopRead is available on the Web, installable as a Progressive Web App (PWA), and available natively for iOS and Android with offline reading support.
