Set in 1914 Michigan, 'The Star That Always Stays' follows fourteen-year-old Norvia, a Métis girl whose life changes dramatically when her mother remarries. As her family moves from their island home to a city, Norvia must navigate a new school, hide her Ojibwe heritage to fit in, and find her place in a blended family. Through her love of classic literature and her connection to her grandmother's stories, Norvia learns that her true identity is her greatest strength, not something to be hidden.
